The GOSPEL TRUTH
LETTER OF

CHARLES G. FINNEY

1856

To Julia Finney

31 January 1856

[MS in Finney Papers, Supplement # 54]

Rochester 31st Feb. 1856.

Dear Julia.

How do you do. We have

been expecting a letter from you.

We suppose you have been very

busy with your music & very

much delighted with your

visit to Uncles. I send you

a check of $20. If you need

more let me know in due

time. James will get the

check cashed. & Aunt will

advise you about the use of

it. The Lord is reviving his

work powerfully, & of course our

hands & hearts & time are full.

Julia while the Lord is saving

souls here dont neglect your own

my Darling Child.

I am too busy to write more at

present. Give a great deal of love

[page 2]

to Uncle & Aunt & James &

Ange & Cousin Fanny.

Let us hear from

you often.

Your aff. Father

C. G. Finney.

Footnote:

It seems probable that Finney had meant to write either 31st Jan. or 1st Feb. On the other hand 1856 was a leap-year and Finney may have inadvertently written 31 instead of 29.
